Festive Fashion. HIM

Thank you to Tom Ford for bringing back the velvet for men. His F/W 2016 collection was full of velvet blazers in all different colours, giving you the retro 70's chic vibe. I can't think of a better piece of clothing to complete your holiday outfit then a chic velvet blazer.

I have always been a sucker for velvet blazers, so a while back I just happened to have bought them in three different colours. I rocked the shit out of them until the next best thing came in and they hung in the back of my closet forgotten. But as fashion always does it recycles and trends come back modernized. So this season when they were again the talk of the town I dug through my wardrobe and brought them all back. So let this be a lesson, never throw away your basic pieces as they will always come back (and you can always tailor it if you need to). Of course I added to the family and bought myself a new piece as well from this season.

I'm all about pairing of pieces, so for a sleek velvet blazer you got to wear it with a basic turtleneck or with chunky knit sweater. You can dress it up or down depending on the pants you wear, it is versatile enough to wear with either jeans or a nice dark dress pant. Once you layer them all up together you get a retro chic and comfortable outfit that's right on trend.
